A brawl at Pawnee Bill's Wild West Show in Princeton NJ left one man dead and several injured. A bola thrower killed an aged colored man named Killen and a Princeton student Oscar Gardner was badly hurt. Indians and cowboys suffered additional injuries as students charged the show personnel. Police arrived after the clash ended.
Aguinaldo reports the Filipino government will press on with war until independence is won. He accuses U.S. peace overtures of seeking restricted autonomy while promising future self government and urges strict fulfillment of American constitutional articles in a Filipino alliance against Spain. He notes disease and deaths among Americans and that troops under Otis have been jailed for refusals to fight.
In Paris on May 15 the Filipino junta argues Dewey returns home not from illness but due to rift with Otis over policy. O C Whitney of the National Educational association promotes a large teachers' delegation to the Los Angeles meeting July 11 to 14. Northern Pacific offers special fares, Southern Pacific may provide 635 round trip from Portland for groups of 196 or more, and Pacific Coast Steamship offers 38.20 round trip fare. Tickets valid through August 20.
The Rev. B. C. Combua, a well known Black politician in the city, was arrested and indicted for attempted extortion after sending a note to a 50 year old white woman to meet him in her barn. Sheriff and County Attorney hid in the barn. the woman’s daughter confronted Combua at midnight. He confessed to writing the note and was jailed amid community uproar.

The steamer Humboldt sails tonight carrying Company L Twenty-fourth Infantry United States regulars. The 105 men and two officers, mostly colored, will relieve Company B Fourteenth Infantry at Fort Wrangel and Fort Lryea. Fifty six men under Capt Henry W Hovey go to Fort Dyen and nine to Fort Wrangel under Lt J C Donks. Arlington dock buzzes as troopers assemble with gear. The Fourteenth unit is expected to be sent to the Philippines.
About half of the delegates to the Czar's Peace Conference have arrived in The Hague on May 15. Twenty journalists from all countries except Russia are present. The first session will be held Wednesday. Disarmament talks have been set aside as delegates focus on arbitration. An international tribunal plan is expected to be approved.
Reports from Havana and Washington on May 15 indicate Cuba's military government under Gen. Brooke is failing to satisfy governance, with Cameroonian concerns that Gen. Wood could replace him. In New Jersey, Geo Beott, manager for John Rockfetler, died by self inflicted gunshot, possibly linked to past accident injuries. In Havana Gen. Gomez refused to act as envoy over troop pay funds. In Kowloon, 800 British troops were dispatched amid native unrest.

At tonight’s city council meeting no franchise for the new consolidated street railways will be considered. Councillor James, chair of the corporations committee, said the item needs several days of committee study before action. Also on the agenda are the Cedar Lake trip report and a proposal to buy Woodland Park.
Steamers Humboldt and Rosalie reached port within minutes of each other from the north. Humboldt carried many passengers including J. Brannick of Skagway and none from Dawson. Rosalie had several aboard none from the Interior. Both left Skagway May 11. A Skagway marriage occurred last Wednesday between Mell Yates and Mrs. B. Geesley, with Mrs. Seemey arriving just before the wedding from Beattie. A Silver lodge was formed in Juneau under Odd Fellows guidance with officers installed. The Juneau wharf and warehouse expansion enhance Alaska Steamship Company facilities alongside the Pacific Coast dock.
Leonard Webber of 118 Fifth Avenue was taken to the county jail after attempting to kill his wife who escaped and alerted a policeman. He previously suffered a mining accident at Rosslyn that left his right arm severely damaged and led to prolonged mental decline.
The steamer Taurada under Captain White sailed for Alaska ports with fourteen burros confined on the forward deck. Passengers include W. Zindras M. E. Reading, May 15, William Goheen aged 65 died this afternoon from injuries after being run down by a cyclist a few days earlier. His skull was fractured. The cyclist says he rang his bell and may be arrested.
