Mr Boyer and his wife with their child fell 14 feet from a bridge near Adrian Tacoma into cold water. They clung to a plank, were rescued by Puget Sound workers, and taken to their apartments. All survived but suffered shock and immersion. The Franklin car was left on the bridge as crews work to right the situation.
Stephen Hull of McQuarrie Hull Co reports a bumper Lake Washington strawberry harvest esteeming it the largest in years. Vines are loaded with green berries many near turning point with samples showing 366 berries on a short vine. Rain delayed ripening but ongoing showers should yield a full crop and superior first berries arriving across the lake today.

Walter Blevins is in Beattie General Hospital critically burned after a late Saturday night drunken quarrel at a Cedar Mountain cabin. His partner John Brandige faces jail after being badly scorched. the cabin and contents burned, neighbors aided and deputies arrested Standige.

Canby Oregon May 14. Dramatic charges accompany the reward dispute over the death of outlaw Frank Smith. Authorities say Smith was unconscious when dynamite exploded and a close range shot by Humane Officer Harry Draper of Spokane killed him as he lay prostrate. EB Hutchinson of Canby and his crew report hearing groans after dynamite was thrown, suggesting Smith might have been injured before the final shot.
