A disastrous blaze in Astra Khan, Moscow, on May 12 destroyed fourteen petroleum laden reels. The fire broke out today and caused extensive damage to the seized cargos.
Thomas Costello, a laborer from the harbor area, said a thief stole $110 from his pocket while he slept in a chair at a Washington Street saloon. Officer Preeman later arrested a man on suspicion of the alleged robbery.

James Burk and FP. Winter were arrested last evening in the lower part of the city and sentenced to 16 days in the city jail.
In Indianapolis May 13 a Black man Wm Phelps from Richmond Kentucky sacrificed himself to save co worker Jan Staplebury at Cerealing mills. As steam filled the boiler Phelps urged Jim to go first then leaped into the scalding cloud and died two hours later in agony. He uttered that Jim has a wife but I have none.
