Chief Bannick says he will enforce council laws governing the city jail even if it means removing Jailer Corbett. The proposed ordinance introduces a jail superintendent, new civil service classification, and humane treatment rules, with the mayor declining to say if he will veto any changes.
John F. Dietz, famed defender of Cameron dam, told the jury he honestly believed Oscar Harp was killed accidentally during a battle with the lumber trust. In Douglas Arizona Madame Talamantes Pursues Col Chiapas, who had ordered the death of her husband and two sons. She corners Chiapas, delivers a terse command to her Indians, and he is shot dead. His body is buried in a shallow desert grave as rifle fire ends the pursuit.

Coworkers had asked her to let down her hair for inspection and as she tossed it free the ends were seized by the wheel tearing off her scalp and throwing her unconscious to the floor.
