The 69 year old Mother Ryther runs a home at 1262 Denny Way feeding and sheltering 60 children and 25 destitute mothers. For 30 years she has helped poor families though funds are tight and support from charities wanes. A tag day Saturday will raise funds and volunteers are urged to report to locations across Seattle to sell tags and collect groceries and clothes.

Paris May 11 1917 French editor Jean Finot argues in La Revue that Germany should pay an installment indemnity to the Allies totaling about 2.4 billion dollars per year reaching 160 billion by July end 1917 to settle war damages.
