Indictments Returned in Seattle Postal Ring Case

A U S grand jury returned multiple indictments this morning. Fred Noice a Seattle post office clerk was charged with stealing money from letters via a decoy letter to Genevieve Darling. He faced a seven year tenure at the post office and was arrested after a marked five dollar and eight dollar bill were mailed. Other indictments named Antonia Naujalies for counterfeiting and John McCallam for opium smuggling. A K Mark faced assault charges aboard the Kilckatat near Port Townsend.

Clever Thief Robs Till During Business Hours

A well dressed man about 22 robbed the till at Charlie Neth’s Meal Market on West Lake Ave and Thomas St during business hours. He took $145 while staff faced away and left quietly. Neth reported the theft to Meloss police and provided a description.
