In Pierce county Roosevelt supporters won 73 delegates at the primaries securing control of county delegation. The tally places Roosevelt to command the state convention with 248 delegates before, and 159 after, the King county results. United Press dispatch reports early returns from Tacoma and Pierce County show Roosevelt leading Taft by a wide margin, suggesting Roosevelt will control the state convention and send delegates to back him at Chicago. United Press report from Wenatchee on May 7 states Doris Vicker aged 16 and Walter Dillon aged 11 fled home to marry. Doris's parents seek them while Dillon previously fled after an argument and returned armed with a shotgun. Authorities report Dillon, while in danger, was not pursued.
