Reports from Washington indicate goat hair is being used to make false curls for milady fashion and is replacing Chinese hair in crafts like curls and tops for autos and table covers. Agriculture notes growing demand while industry follows the trend.

Washington May 5 The judiciary committee moved to report the prohibition and woman suffrage amendments to the house without recommendation.

Washington May 5 Ex Secretary of State Olney of Boston today refused the chairmanship of the new federal reserve board created by the currency law. Warburg has accepted as Vice President and others including Wheeler Harding and Miller are expected to follow. The posts pay 12000 dollars yearly and the president ranks them with supreme bench seats.

Hiram Duryea a New York multi millionaire manufacturer was shot dead by his son Chester Duryea 43 who later surrendered to police claiming the act was justified. Chester had shown peculiar behavior for years and was placed in a cell with his father to prevent self harm as police confronted the incident.
