Attorneys Prepare Damage Suit Against Seattle over Boiler Blast

Relatives of the men killed in last Tuesday's boiler explosion will sue the City of Seattle early next week. Morris Kahn of the Lone firm and William Seema of the International Art company will arrive to press the claim, with Ronald and Pattle retained to represent the relatives. The American Travelers' Protective association has notified attorneys to act on its behalf.

Tragic double murder in Bowles by a teen assailant

Mary A. Clark 52 burned to death and her sister Annie 45 fatally wounded at Bowles Md by John Berry a 15 year old boy now jailed for the crime. Berry surprised the sisters struck Mary to death with a club while Annie pled for mercy promising money to spare her life. Indignation runs high and lynching fears are reported.

Queen Arrives as Ocean Dock Sees Steamship Day

The Queen docked today while the steamer Umatilla departed with 130 passengers aboard. Among them were 27 bound for Alaska. The listed travelers include H Willcock, J Sallement, C K Johnsson, Hemingway, Capt. J G Green, Mrs H G Giller, W H Llewellyn, W P Martin, A E Beaumont, and many others. The Umatilla carried a mix of passengers including A Gillard, Leland Baxter, Henry Morrie, Mrs Horman, George Samison, and Rev. Wm P Thorn, with 35 second class travelers also aboard.

Camera with a Swift Eye Promises Ultra Fast Photography

In Chicago for the Smithsonian Institution a camera is being built to record successive exposures as fast as one six hundredth of a second, potentially reaching one thousandth. It aims to capture arrowflight mid-air and a bird in flight, designed by William Gaertner formerly with the Smithsonian.

A Springfield vigilante posse guided by J Priest's famed bloodhounds tracks a gang through Ozark hills after robbing H B Fox general merchandise at Lawrenceburg last night. A Mindoro enclosure report notes a dwarf buffalo form in Mindoro forests reaching 6000 feet, tunneling bamboo trails on mountain slopes where hunters crawl. Aborigines avoid the creature.
