Tug Arthur B sinks off Sand Heads with all hands lost
The Tacoma bound tug Arthur B. captain MacGranahan and a five man crew foundered near Sand Heads at the mouth of the Fraser. Witnesses saw the vessel capsize quickly in 26 feet of water after leaving Stevenson wharf about 8 PM amid a strong wind. The ship, built in 1897 at Port Orchard, 66 feet long, 23 foot beam, 62 tons, was owned by Captain MacGranahan and a Vancouver shipping man named Wekks.
