In Marseilles workers and sympathisers clashed at a mill this morning. Strikers and supporters attempted to resume work but were met with force. several people were wounded as swords were used. Police are dispersing the crowd.
A team hitched to a Town dairy wagon bolted while parked in front of the Rainier Grand on Fifth Avenue this morning. They dashed down Dia street, spilling milk along the route. The driver was absent. the wagon ended up on Caeea Street near Second Avenue with the horses secured.
Students from the University aided by Seattle high school pupils gathered tonight to honor a state appropriation. More than 2000 people joined the parade from Pioneer to square, with Mayor Hames Judge Metty Josiah Colling L. B. and President Frank P. Graves attending.
The civil service commission heard an appeal by N. A. Christoff of the engineering staff after layoffs at pumping stations. Christoff claimed seniority and chief engineer status. The board found Christoff senior to J. C. Lindsay but did not grant reinstatement, suggesting Lindsay may remain in place or a vacancy could arise.
Hoshor, convicted Saturday morning of grand larceny, was granted bail this morning. Dickson and J B Thompson and Mrs Ida FE qualified as sureties. Hoshor had been in the county jail since his arrest awaiting the ruling.
NO RESULT. Lincoln Neb March 20 The Republican caucus adjourned at deadlock after 76 ballots for long term senatorship with no result. It will resume tonight.

John Albertson reported to police last night that he had been robbed of money in Stella Nelson’s area. P F Michael was released today for failure of the complainant to prosecute after being robbed of one hundred dollars from a saloon box.
The Forrest Home departed Port Gamble on November 21 and arrived Monday after six days at sea. A fire started in the cabin area and upper works due to an overturned lamp, forcing crew to jettison deck cargo and affect repairs. Capt Cotatrap led the ship with Forrest Home and Talbot of San Francisco at the helm during the incident.
The Nippon Yusen Kaisha steamer Kinshin Maru under Capt H Fraser docked at Smith's Cove from Kobe and Yokohama with thirty Japanese aboard including a Kern family. The ship carried silks and curios. all aboard were admitted to the country as students merchants and traders with funds and some English speakers aboard.

Early today William Rose was shot and killed by Alex Simpson on a country road between Spring Brook and Kent. The feud over road access and a previously blocked fence led to the fatal confrontation. deputies and the coroner responded, and Simpson is held as authorities review the case.
