Mrs Martha Place was put to death at Sing Sing penitentiary by electrocution at 11:10 AM. The electrical charge lasted four seconds at 1760 volts and 56 seconds at 200 volts, with a brief restoration afterwards. She appeared composed, prayed, and uttered God save me before the sentence was carried out.

Walla Walla carried about twenty five steerage passengers and listed travelers include Misa Travers Mrs Patterton and Captain J R McKenasie. Umatilla brought sixty six steerage travelers and fourteen bound for Alaska among its passengers.
Chicago markets report cattle prices with Reeves and stockers unchanged and cows at 1.75 to 4.75, Texans 5.50 to 6.00, Hoge-Light 55.90, rough mixed and heavy down 8 percent, pigs unchanged. Sheep natives 34.45 to 44.55, western 3.60 to 4.70, lambs unchanged.
The willful request of Muncie physician Dr E J Snell to have his ashes cast into the Ohio River was finally carried out in Cincinnati. His son Thomas, tearful, dropped the urn from the Suspension Bridge, sending the ashes to rest in the river. Snell, a wealthy Muncie resident, loved Ohio and his riverboat cruises.
Jacob M. Woodring of Mount Vernon is in county jail awaiting U S grand jury action on charges of running a Welt distillery and disposing of moonshine whisky. He calls the accusation spitework and says it is the first such offense before the Federal court in Seattle.
