In a Sunday confrontation, Constable enforcement led to arrests of theater managers John Cort of the Grand William Russell of the Seattle and Lyric Thomas Considine of the Orpheum Central Alex Pantages of the Lois and Pantages Matt Relas of the ee and MacDonald of the r as part of a dispute over enforcing closing laws.

Captain Austin of the Minnesota reports the mammoth steamer Dakota ran onto rocks off Yokohama on March 4 with no apparent cause. The Dakota was abandoned and all hands saved. The Minnesota, bound for Seattle, signaled the ship but could not prevent the disaster.
Deputy sheriff closed the saloon of RE R Cosgrove as action proceeds on the charge of operating without a license. Twenty saloons are reported to be running in violation of law, according to the notice.
The Great Northern railroad plans a block system between Seattle and Everett. Engineering corps announce that base material has partially arrived from the east and is now being distributed along the coastal route.

The 226 foot cigar shaped airship Toliver built over seven years in Pleasanton is powered by four gasoline engines driving six propellers. It carries 15 people, uses hydrogen gas, and features internal compartments and a telephony network. The craft is set for a first voyage this week amid secrecy.
