Wesley L May formerly Wesley L Savaccol asks a local court to legalize his assumed name Twenty Years for real estate work. He explains his name change follows his marriage to a woman later known as Martha Place who was executed. he says he has used the alias since and disclaims his original name.
The steamship Tacoma, a major Northwestern Steamship Co. vessel on the Nome route, left Seattle January 5 and was reported captured by Japanese warships yesterday. A cable from Japan confirmed the capture with no details, noting the vessel is in Japanese hands. Insurance officials confirmed the ship was fully insured against capture.
