New State Fish Rules Take Effect Wednesday
Puget Sound salmon industry hopes rise as state fisheries board imposes tighter limits. The rules ban ocean fishing within three miles of coast, prohibit catching immature salmon, cap net sizes, close the Skagit and Snohomish rivers, and restrict inlets near streams and several protected areas. Daily personal limits allow three salmon over 18 inches for self or family.
