Council Gift Sparks Lawsuit Warning After Gift
Ten of fifteen city council members approve gifting away fifteen thousand dollars of municipal property. The deed returns the old fire engine site at Broadway and Terracests to the Terry heirs, among the area’s wealthiest pioneer families. Several council members oppose the action and predict an immediate test of the gift if Mayor Moore signs it, with a lawsuit likely if the bill becomes law.
