A man dressed as a woman sprayed ammonia in the face of Homewood National Bank messenger Charles Lazaro and tried to flee with a bag containing 15 000 dollars. Lazaro held on and the suspect Joseph Lindsey 25 Homewood was captured after the assault.
Prosecution and defense rested shortly before noon Tuesday in the manslaughter case of Mrs Ivy Osborn before Superior Judge Mitchell Gilliam. The infant Helen Marie Wilson died while in Osborns care last October. Norman Storm testified as the states star witness that Osborn struck the baby through a window of her house boat.

In Port Angeles the council approved a special election to establish a port at the mouth of the Quillayute river, shelving the older settlers petition. Six persons died and about 40 were injured as a tornado and rain hit the western part of the state. Warrensville reported six dead and 25 injured, Stiffleton 15 injured. Cotton mill towns suffered heavy damage with 25 houses destroyed in Warrensville and 10 in Stiffleton. Relief workers were sent with medical and food supplies.
An air tank explosion at Ninth and Brighton streets in Kansas City killed four people and injured 12. The blast destroyed the street car barns compressing room, toppled 30 to 40 feet of wall, and sent debris into the street. Police, fire crews, and ambulances answered the scene. the fire ended by 8:30 p.m. as rescue efforts continued.
Oe St Augustine Fla March 7 President Harding prepares to depart Washington on a special train bound for St Augustine. The plan calls for a brief stay with a fishing trip and a 10 day vacation at the Hotel Ponce de Leon in St Augustine following arrival around 10 p m tomorrow night.
