The Seattle gambling houses including Totem and California club closed after an election day order. detectives sealed doors, motives unclear. Officials cited no announced reason, while gamblers blamed lack of campaign support, with openings uncertain and no timetable given.
In Virginia on March 5 the Central Labor Union calls for a boycott as sit ins grow. A mob blocked trolley lines, cut and removed components, and the company faced pressure to operate under union terms. City council discusses a resolution to revoke operating plans and defer to a special committee.
Washington dispatch reports the Attorney General is expected to initiate injunctive proceedings against railroads charged by the Interstate Commerce Commission with violating rate and freight practices.
