Great Northern Train Reported Wiped Out By Avalanche
Everett Washington March 1 Great Northern train stalled near Wellington after February 24 has probably been destroyed by an avalanche. Thirty passengers aboard may have perished as wires and lines were severed by heavy snow. Railroad crews sent relief trains and medical staff, but details remain unknown as communication with Wellington broke down.

Indian Murders Two Over Girl on Quinault Reservation

Winchester on trial for illegal registration scheme in ward
Frank EB Winchester a leading worker in fraudulent registration was on trial after indictment in a case alleging illegal registration. He lived at 2902 First Ave and recruited to reside in the Fifth ward to serve as registration clerk and judge of election. He handled precinct books in the Third precinct of the Fifth ward as large number of Mont ere registered by Gill workers. He aimed to help floaters vote and was arrested by Grand Jury detective Marion. Juror Zimmerman expressed belief that floaters were registered wholesale and faulted Gill machine tactics in the primaries.
