Millions Anxious Over Post Office Appropriation
Washington dispatch reports Postmaster General Hitch cock warning Congress may fail to pass the post office appropriation bill by Monday. He says 338,000 postal workers could be unpaid, leaving 1,000,000 dependents in hardship. Also notes lumber shipments for 21 Indian housing units aiding evacuees from eruptions and plans to colonize homeless Indians for winter with help from the revenue cutter service and education department.

Zeppelin ship wrecked in gas explosion over North Sea
A gas explosion occurred when the Schweben airship collided with a hangar during a show flight near Dugeldorf. The blast wounded 34 soldiers, several fatally, as the airship split its gas bag and ruptured at the shed. The 12 passengers aboard were threatened by the catastrophe.
