Lumberman W A Cook testifies before the Lorimer investigating committee that Edward Hines claimed responsibility for electing U S Senator Isaac Stephenson of Wisconsin. Hines boasted Lorimer would be the next Illinois senator and pledged unlimited funds, saying not to stop at anything.

In Chicago William Wragid and Jacob Rubin played craps with Wragid losing forty eight dollars. Wragid then used loaded dice and won seventy eight dollars. Rubin beat him and took the money, after which police arrested both men.
The jury to retry Charles Wappenstein on the August 5 1910 bribe indictment may be selected this afternoon after E H Severance was passed for cause.
