The Star mocks puritan campaigns against “slit skirts” arguing no virtue in banning fashion. It notes some slits are acceptable and even advocates a modest eight inch slit while lampooning the notion that any ankle to knee disclosure is impossible.
An escaped lunatic Grandi called at Mrs. Jane Burke’s home at 112% Jackson Jr yesterday asking to see her and declaring he would kill her. Burke alerted authorities. Grandi remained until Patrolman Hagen arrested him. He had escaped from Steilacoom asylum three months ago.
