A Star News vendor's dog named Utah helped catch a thief Tuesday night. The dog restrained suspect W. C. Bahnke after a robbery at the Monte Carlo pool hall on 405 Fifth Ave South at 1130 PM. The thief fled toward Sixth Ave South and King Street until police arrival.
Adelle Verge, held in British Columbia for alleged threats against Fred Cole, will not be brought to trial in San Francisco. Cole said he would not press the charge and believed Verge was demented.

Atlantic City reports Jack Dempsey calls Georges Carpentier a gentleman and says it is an honor to fight him. The champion praises the French challenger as a tough, dangerous foe and notes plans to visit his mother in Salt Lake City after the July 2 Jersey City bout depending on the outcome.
C M Hare alias Slick Hare pleaded guilty to federal dope charges before Judge Jeremiah Neterer and received a 75 day sentence in county jail.
