In Olympia on June 14 J W Robinson attorney for Marie Carrau filed affidavits in the Washington supreme court alleging the Sullivan will case transcript was stolen from the King county clerk and that Judge Frater conspired with Piles Mowe and Farrell to block certification of testimony. He seeks five court orders to force Frater to certify the testimony and for further search of the clerk's office or substitution of a copy for the original filing. The court took the matter under advisement after arguments. Frater said he would hear the parties though he doubts jurisdiction. The dispute centers on alleged misfiling and the mystery of the transcript with related procedural motions.
In New Haven Ohio on a June morning, Mary Miginte Julia Bear and another elderly inmate died as a fire swept through a Shaker community building. The blaze destroyed all the large Shaker structures.
