Corwin Again Holds Record for Nome Voyage

Corwin Steamship Company’s passenger vessel Corwin arrived in Nome on June 2 after a 18 day voyage from Seattle May 11 via Dutch Harbor. Captain F L West commanded the ship which faced no trouble from ice on the northern route and set a record for reaching Nome. Local agents for Corwin praised the crew’s navigation and the ship’s steady passage through the ice laden seas.

Death of J. B. Ferris at Ballard Ohio Valley residence

J B Ferris aged 57 died at the family home 535 Polk Ballard Sunday night from pneumonia. He was a native of Iowa. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a m with interment at Crown Hill cemetery.
