Booth fell ill and postponed his marriage. He was taken to the Players' club and, near death, sent for her. She visited four times as reporters clashed at the entrance. At the bedside they shared a private moment. he could not speak but smiled as she kissed him and died.

June 4 Seattle man Ernest Lowenstein, 21, with prior Seattle burglary sentences and prison terms, confesses to five burglaries believed to have yielded thousands in stolen property. In San Francisco he is jailed. Mrs Ray of the Radium hotel nearly died after swallowing antiseptic tablets. a doctor saved her.
In San Francisco a 19 year old, Charles H. Bonner, killed Bernice Lily Godair, 17, after she refused to be his chum. He admitted premeditation and said the act was to keep her from others and console his loss of a brother. He awaited arrest with the gun.
Councilman A J Goddard says he is exploring two or three sites to replace City Hall park with a garage. Mayor Cotterill vetoed the measure, which the council argues could be invalid due to an emergency clause and referendum issues. Court tests loom as sides clash over charter interpretation and voting thresholds.
Police report Detective Frank Welch was shot and fatally wounded while guarding Mrs. J. B. Creach’s home in Hoquiam. An arrest has been made in the case.
