Skagit River hydro project needs five and a half million more
City Engineer A H Dimock reports to the council finance committee that roughly $5,500,000 additional funds are required to complete the Skagit river hydroelectric development, bringing total costs to about $11,000,000. The plan includes a 26 mile railroad, a 2,000 horsepower plant, timber dam, tunnel, transmission lines, and six substations to supply Seattle. Dimock outlines cost basis, expected power output, and projected savings to the municipal light department through reduced rates and expanded capacity by 1924.
