Tacoma June 1. M. Bloom a pawnbroker pleaded guilty to extortion and was fined 50 dollars and costs. Beatrice Harrington of Seattle complained that Bloom charged her 120 percent interest on a loan for her watch.

J E B Snyder a county assessor office employee collapsed outside the courthouse at 10 30 am and died an hour later at City hospital. He had served three years in the assessor and later in the recording department and recently returned to outdoor assessment work. He was single and lived with his sister at 40th Avenue and Genesee Street.
A Poindexter gathering is planned for Saturday night in Allien Dale's cafeteria at Second and Seneca. The regular cafeteria dinner will be served and attendees will pay for what they order. The dinner is open to both men and women.

In Joplin Missouri on June 1 Charlies F. Willard failed to return from a cross country flight. J C Mars launched an air search in a second aeroplane and found Willard six miles from the field. A hunter's stray shot had splintered Willard's propeller. the propeller was repaired and both planes returned to base two hours later.
Clarence Kistler, Idaho hotel laborer, was dragged 15 feet by a Yester Way car. his clothes torn, back broken, he’s in serious condition at City hospital. A separate case reports 12 year old Carl Gittner ran away with $160 once hidden by his stepfather. truant officer found him with a friend and gear. horse and saddle bought from P M Sloan and R F Gor now under arrest for delinquency.
Martin Stocker, aboard the steamer Perdita from Anacortes, was washed overboard in a wave near daybreak. He clung to a rope and swam eight miles to Seattle, regaining the dock after drifting in salt water. He seeks a fare rebate from the voyage.
