He was with his daughter-in-law, Martha Strain, 3092 Alki Ave. Strain suffered a stroke and was rushed ashore for aid, but died. He had been visiting relatives in Seattle. his family lives in Canton, N. The body was taken to the morgue.
The city council will decide today whether to uphold last year’s resolution barring jitneys from all lines except feeder routes. Superintendent Carl Reeves says the issue hinges on a recent Supreme Court ruling granting cities full power to regulate streets and jitneys.
