The administrator of R Ha Seattle seeks distribution of Hall estate assets arguing Hall’s death left debts and contested bequests. He claims wealth and specific transfers, while challengers contest the heirs’ claims and remaining funds.
AY, Va July 25 Mayor B was killed by a dynamite blast at his suburban home. The body was found with limbs severed and scattered. a giant crater marked the scene. Police organized a search with a 400-strong posse and hounds as they pursued leads to the bank robberies tied to the case.
Laure Porter a Black woman and resort proprietress was seized from the Monroe jail by a white mob and believed drowned in the Ouachita River. Officers pursued as the mob advanced, driven by racial tensions after alleged robberies at the resort.
Fern Hill commuters staged a protest over a 10 cent fare between Tacoma and Fern Hill. Conductor Joe Fournier was chloroformed on a packed car and fainted. passengers rode free as the car reached Tacoma. The cash register showed no take and Peder Jensen, a leader of the fare opposition, is recovering after a brutal beating.
Jane Marbury has perhaps played more leading parts for her age than any other American actress. She debuted as a full leading woman in a Detroit stock company at fourteen. In the coming season she will star with Walter Edinger in the new comedy Hobby Burnit opening in New York.
H. J. Welty former president OG. W. Crawford former vice president and manager and RE. B. Morgan former cashier of Home Security Savings Bank pleaded not guilty to charges of accepting funds while knowing the bank was insolvent. They are out on bonds and will be tried in superior court in September.
The Teteurei Maru sank off Chindo Korea while en route to Darien. Of 246 aboard, 40 saved in two lifeboats landed at Chindo. six lifeboats launched. British Vice Consul Cunningham among saved. 105 third class and 59 sailors missing in four lifeboats. Ship built in Nagasaki in 1906.
Chicago reports a heat‑driven blaze across the northwest city area causing 2 million dollars in property loss. Northwestern Malt & Grain plant suffered about 1.5 million, Charlies FP Ogren Co brewery near 0.6 million, with grain dust explosions blamed. No confirmed deaths. several persons unaccounted for amid fires and bakery conflagration.
The Chicago obituaries wrongly announced the death of R H Morse junior partner at Fairbanks Morse Co. He recently had an appendicitis operation and was improving at home after being discharged from hospital. Nurses denied any death and clarified he remained alive.
In Tacoma on July 25 Mrs. Fletcher Johnston described to the coroner's inquest why she shot Frank R. Hall, saying she acted in self defense after he threatened to kill her if she did not elope. A second witness, John Katschner, would testify about Hall's alleged affair with Mia Johnston.
