Allies Turn Food Corner Says Hoover in London
Merbet Hoover, U S food administrator, told allied food controllers in London that the corner in food production and supply has been turned. He said the submarine menace no longer threatens the food supply and cited 10,000,000 tons exported to the allies in the past year with 21,000,000 tons expected next year. He noted U S pork output would supply meat for the allies and contrasted enemy hunger with allied success. Present were food controllers from England, France, Italy, Belgium and others.
