Wallace F. Gerow recently returned from Dawson City Alaska was arrested by Policeman Bevan on a warrant sworn by his daughter Bila M. Garrett for assault and battery. A Sunday incident at Alki Point involved Mr. Gerow and hisguardianship of a little boy aged one. Gerow denies striking the girl while she claims he struck her as he took the child from his daughter who was appointed guardian by the superior court. The cane case goes before Justice Cann this afternoon.
At a Chamber of Commerce gathering tomorrow the Lake Washington canal committee is set to present its assessment of work by the attic and Lake Washington Waterway Company. The committee has held two meetings since last week and remains in session this afternoon preparing the report.

In New York City a coroner's inquest into a foul shooting heard William H. case testify that his companions were good friends and he had no improper relations with Mrs. Latimer. Latimer, widow of the murdered man, identified the killer as wearing a black mask, calling him a burglar. Also noted three young runaways, Jan White, Frank Clark, and Fred Jones, believed to be Seattle runaways, were held in Everett city lockup.
Mount Zion Baptist Church hopes to raise funds for a new church with $208 collected and $600 pledged for the project. Rev. McPherson leads the effort and plans to request help from the American Baptist Home Mission. He will travel to Spokane for the third annual session of the Colored Baptist State convention starting Thursday.
Burglars who habitually steal then dine on the property after a break in struck 1741 Twelfth Avenue South in Seattle on Sunday night. Two men burglarized the Brugham residence, stealing about $10 and valuables, then spread a back porch feast before the intruders fled. Police were notified last night.
Fred H. Racho was convicted of forging a money order for 14.75 dollars and received a one year sentence plus 100 dollars and costs in a federal court today.
