One Toe the Wolf Dead After Long Rampage
In Upton Maine area on July 19 the famed wolf known as One Toe died after being shot by William Jenkins who received a 150 dollar reward. The creature was missing four toes on one foot and all but one on the other and had long preyed on ranchers stock valued at about twenty thousand dollars. Jenkins encountered the wolf by chance and killed it, ending its reign of depredation.
