A German airship, the Be balloon Erbsloch, exploded after nets failed near Paschied Westphalia, killing Kerr Erbsloch and five others. The craft, tested recently, fell from 5,000 feet and wreckage buried the engines and car. Separately, Charles S. Wiley and Mrs. Wiley drowned in Jarvis Inlet near Powell, British Columbia after their rowboat struck a snag, leaving Mr. Wiley missing. Mr. Wiley was a Seattle contractor and bank official. Mrs. Wiley was his wife and a Plymouth Congregational church member.
