Corn prices fell Tuesday due to weak sales with retailers saying buyers would not meet asking prices. Express costs hit wholesalers hardest forcing crates to sell at eight and four dollars. last week they sought six to seven dollars. A Merced tomato carload reached the street at 2.26 a crate. Cherries rose to 12 and 16 cents per pound while pineapples dropped to five dollars per case with Hawaiian arrivals.
