Ground Squirrels Life Cycle Described By Prof Shaw

Prof W T Shaw of Pullman Washington outlines the life history of ground squirrels. They dig a burrow with a winter sleeping chamber and a side tunnel for drainage. The bed is formed with dry roots and grass and the entrance is plugged for hibernation. Awakening takes time and the creature emerges into snow or returns underground for stored food until spring plants appear.
