Sheriff Cudihee reports Tracy was seen at the Johnson house for six hours and warns marshals to track his route. Dogs from the penitentiary join the hunt with hounds, one of them a female expert tracker.
A Seattle dispatch details Convict Tracy’s six hour stay at the Johnson house in Port Madison after escaping Van Horn. He dictated terms, drank coffee, eyed Seattle papers, and planned further action while evading pursuers in a bold Puget Sound escape narrative involving John Anderson and others.
