Good Roads Referendum Promises Major Road Paving Savings
The State Highway Commissioner notes 1.1 million annual road upkeep with 900000 savings potential if paving is used. Gasoline use could drop 39 percent saving 10 million yearly, tires save 15 million. Counties have funded much paving. Snohomish has 123 miles and Whatcom 108 miles of concrete. Voters will decide Referendum No 1 in November to provide 30 million for road paving.
