Tracy in deadly clash with pursuing officers

Convict Tracy Sightings Trigger Seattle Manhunt

Sheriff led posse of five, including deputies Jack Williams and L W Nelson, plus two newspaper men, hunts Tracy from Ravenna Park toward Seattle. Reports say Tracy passed through Bal Fremont Latona, headed toward Canadian boundary by rail, with Seattle detectives and nearby sheriffs coordinating pursuit. Notes describe a gasoline launch sighting near Meadow Point and a bluffing fishing camp encounter at South Point Olympia with a 30 30 rifle. Man Believed To Escape Tracy Sighting Near Ravenna

Deputy sheriffs tracked a man fitting Tracy's description from Ravenna toward Kirkland after a 6 30 a m alarm. Two deputies followed the railroad from Ravenna while another traveler reported a man at a cabin at 7 20 a m demanding food before fleeing on foot. The fugitive is believed to be hidden between Ravenna and Pontiac.

Trains Collide injuring many near Pittsburg

A Pittsburg and Weet railway collision this morning left over sixty injured as a rear end crash between the 43 train and Butler accommodation caused a rear coach to telescope. A telegraph operator and a train dispute are cited as factors. An emergency referee was sent to the scene and all injured were treated locally.
