City Hall Notes Include Damages Claim Over Tree Felling

J W Lawis and Annie Lewin sue the city for 400 damages over unauthorized tree cutting near Swan Lake on June 15 1900 and for leaving trees and piling dirt on their premises. Three Saloons Wrecked by Wichita Women Raiders

In Anthony Kansas ten women from the W T U led by Mrs Sheriff of Dangville wrecked three saloons early today causing over 20000 in damage. James Klenley’s bar fixtures were toppled while liquor survived. Mrs Sheriff struck a bartender with a beer bottle. In Topeka Carrie Nation tried to raid two joints. guards blocked her and a mass meeting pledged to back further raids.
