Los Angeles January 29 Mrs Louise Peete the alleged murderer rests in the county jail today preparing to resume her fight for life early next week. The defense led by Willam Aggeler plans to offset nearly 40 prosecution witnesses while the prosecution seeks to finish its case by Tuesday. Aggeler says defense will last about three days with Mrs Peete and her husband R C Peete of Denver central to the case.
At a brief King county grand jury session J. Y. Messenger, cashier for the municipal railway lines, testified for about five minutes. The jury adjourned after another hour of deliberation and will reconvene Monday morning with a rumored report due at the next meeting.
City Treasurer Ed L. Terry again asked Corporation Counsel Walter F. Meier if he is personally responsible for using street railway revenues to cover operating costs rather than setting aside funds to defray principal and interest.
