He traveled to San Francisco during the earthquake and returned, reportedly brooding over his wife’s death.
Christian C. Schuerman Seattle pioneer died suddenly at his home in west Seattle at age 72 after a three month illness. Born in Germany in 1834 he arrived on the Pacific coast in 1859 and came to Seattle in 1860. He is survived by his wife Kate and eight children. Funeral services set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. under the care of local ministers.
