German tarred and feathered on local road incident
Don LeRoy a 29 year old German chauffeur for Dr. E Eugene Jordan was seized by five men from the End garage on Yester way and driven two and a half miles out of South Park on the Des Moines road. Stripped of clothing and coated with tar and feathers, he was left bound by the roadside and found by deputy sheriffs Starwich and Malone who sent him to the county hospital. Sheriff officials investigate.

Dozen plants in California halted operations as the government enforces the national coal conservation program.
