San Francisco Jan 17 A prize of 1000 dollars will go to the aviator who pilots a heavier than air craft from San Francisco to Mount Tamalpais summit. The offer was announced today by C F Runyon president of the Mill Valley and Tamalpasa railroad. Runyon returned from Los Angeles where he watched aviators compete in the Los Angeles meet.
United Press reports a Swedish worker Hansen died after slipping from a suspended wicker basket on a bridge. As his wife and two children watched from a steamship, rescuers tried three times to snag him with a loop. the last attempt failed and he plunged into the river.
Boston January 17 United Press reports Dr W E Porter, addressing Harvard Medical School, argues charity is a disgrace and that health funds should focus on saving educated, capable people. He calls for allowing hopeless cases to perish to benefit the community.
Bouillon supporters plan an evening gathering at 412 Oriental Building in Hillman City where A V Bouillon will outline his policies and recount attempts as public utilities superintendent to aid Seattle south end. He will address Pleasant Valley Social and Improvement Club and discuss backing by the political machine.
The trial of Ralph Leavitt is scheduled for February 14 in Judge Gay's court. Leavitt has been in Los Angeles since forfeiting his bond on a manslaughter charge for running over Rafello Sego.
