Farm Journal Gives Babe Ruth's Record
The Farm Journal reports the White Leghorn known as Babe Ruth, raised at Alderwood Manor near Seattle, has an unofficial record of 328 eggs in 346 days. The record holder Miss Smarty laid 325 eggs. Babe Ruth hatched March 31, 1919 and first laid August 26. The farm uses trap nests and reports profits and other prolific layers in the same pen.
