Hutson Unable to Take Seat in State Senate
The article details Hutson’s contention that under Article 2, section 14 of the Washington constitution his seat is vacated when elected to another office. It argues Gov Mead must order a new election and warns that Hutson sitting as senator would violate oath and invite legal challenges. It notes Hutson resigned a U.S. attorney post to seek the senate seat.
