Gill favors an open town idea and is often seen with a corn cob and Fedora hat. His full name is Hiram Charles Gill he won the mayoral race by about 3000 votes and later lost the recall by around 6066 votes.
United Press report from Indianapolis says Judge Markey ordered Detective Wm J Burns arrested after Federal Surety Co withdrew the $10,000 bond for Burns in the McNamara kidnapping case. Burns sought a writ of habeas corpus at the federal court.
