Prince Tsai Tseh tells The Star that China is becoming conscious of itself and would resist any insult. He notes a tour aims at reforms but says China is not ready for revolution. He highlights the ongoing boycott of American goods and U.S. customs bias as fueling Chinese anger, promising removal only after fair U.S. laws pass.

Detective Phillips returns from Bellingham where he investigated the theft of valuable furs from Mr and Mrs Arthur Sharp of Star theater. Furs were recovered from A B Vernor a fake secret service man who claimed Australian acquaintance with the Shars. He stole rugs in Fairhaven then sold a mileage ticket to the run. Furs recovered in Bellingham and Seattle Ramona hotel by Detective James Byrne.
A man thought to be Simpkins was seen at a Two Rivers Wash card game on Saturday. He claimed to have worked on the Chutes farm nearby and bore a fresh forehead scar. Russell identified him to detectives, but the man quit the game and left town that night to avoid arrest.
San Diego Cal Feb 28 Orders have been issued to the brigantine Galilee with instruments corrected for a famed magnetic survey. The vessel is to sail at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon for a cruise in the north Pacific Ocean and is due back in San Diego about November 1.
Seattle City Council heard that the mayor lacks veto power over city ordinances. Corporation Counsel Scott Calhoun stated the constitution and city charter restrict the mayor, leaving veto authority to the governor and prohibiting such power for the mayor. The issue arose after the mayor vetoed a liquor license reading near the new Union Depot and the council must decide next steps.
