A two month old baby boy found abandoned on a stranger's doorstep in Seattle is now at City Hospital after Mrs. Marcus took him in. Police Matron H. G. Berry and nurses care for him as the city wonders who deserted him and whether a hopeful home exists.
Secretary Knox faces accusations that American naval secrets were traded to secure two dreadnought contracts won by Argentinian interests. The article claims Bethlehem Steel and shipyards at Fore River and New York built hulls while US plans and secrets aided foreign bidders.
Acting Chief Bannick testified before the grand jury detailing orders he received from Wappy. Patrolman D J McLennan and police captains Willard and Stuart are due to appear and provide information on conditions under the Wappenstein regime.

Johno Kenneth Turner author of Barbarous Mexico and war correspondent in Calexico was threatened with arrest as an insurrecto after a verbal brush with U S District Attorney McCormick and U S Marshal Youngworth. He was placed under surveillance as authorities assist Captain Babcock in preserving neutrality and a grand jury impending.
In Ballard city hall a candle lit by Martha Derrick ignited her hat inside a voting booth. The flame spread and she sustained burns on her hands before election officials contained the fire and aided her escape.
The Star urges all readers to vote against the city hall gang and for reform. It names eight candidates to support and instructs voters to mark crosses opposite those eight on the ballot, stressing unity against big interests and the Seattle Electric boss influence.
Spokane. Miss Eleanor Monaghan, prominent society figure, will sponsor the torpedo boat destroyer Monaghan. The ship honors her brother who was killed and beheaded by natives while defending a wounded superior officer. The ceremony marks a notable city tribute to a war hero.
The Dreamland program announces a series of speeches by notable figures. Manager Mike Fisher says Roosevelt will speak on April 6, joining Poindexter Gill and Dirling in a bold lineup. Streamers are being bought for the event.

In Olympia on February 21 the initiative and referendum bill passed the house and was favorably reported by the senate committee with three amendments. Suggested changes include lowering the voter threshold to ban an initiative from eight to ten percent and reducing the referendum threshold from five to four. The utilities commission bill was also reported out. Senator Jensen denounced the report as revolutionary, and Gov. Hay signed the bill validating the commission form of government. Ex Senator Turner will argue against the commission before the supreme court. Senator Huxtable’s salary bill was postponed. Weather: Seattle area to see occasional light rain or snow flurries tonight and Wednesday with easterly winds.
A bond issue for a buying extension of the Renton line will be discussed at Seattle Seminary. The group includes Geo F Cot Pil Oliver T Erickson and Geo R.
In the plague stricken Manchuria district thousands of unemployed men have become bandits looting villages. Chinese troops sent to quell the plundering have been defeated repeatedly as civil war-style violence dominates the area.
J. D. Ross was yesterday appointed permanent superintendent of the city lighting plant by Mayor Dilling to succeed Richard M. Arms, who resigned after the defeat of Gill.
The Automobile Club of Seattle last night endorsed a state measure proposing a bridge across the Cowlitz River at Woodland, aiming to connect communities and ease travel.

Judge Tallman ordered the city to stop forcing teamsters to work more than eight hours a day. The usual ten hour day includes street work and chores.
