Port Orchard, Feb 19. David Caplan, jailed here, denies lurid reports after his arrest for dynamiting the Los Angeles Times building. He says no letters from labor leaders were seized, doubts high percentage dynamite was found, and claims to have never been in Los Angeles. Detectives say giant powder and a revolver were found in his cabin two miles from Rolling Bay. Caplan, known as Frank Moller, aided by Burns agency, is held in Kitsap county jail. McNamara and Schmidt implicated in related 1910 Seattle Lyon building dynamiting.
Chicago notes a city election quirk where Mrs. Angelo Murolo born in the United States cannot vote in the city primaries while Mrs. Minnie Clement born abroad and not naturalized can vote. The decision hinges on Mrs. Murolo’s marriage to an alien and contrasts with Mrs. Clemenz whose husband was naturalized years ago.
